College Scholarships from the Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Cardiff-by-the-Sea Library are pleased to be offering three $1500 scholarships to graduating seniors who live in zip codes 92007 or 92024 and who are planning to attend a college, university, or trade school in 2011.
These "non-need based" scholarships are a great opportunity for our local students. A 500 word essay describing the student's special interests or extra curricular activities, how their library experiences have influenced their education, and why they are planning to pursue a post-secondary education is required, as are two letters of recommendation, proof of residence, school registration, and a library card.
Applications must be received by April 30, 2011 and can be hand delivered to the library or mailed to:
Scholarship Committee
P.O. Box 657
Cardiff-by-the-Sea, CA 92007
To obtain an application, students can contact a school counselor, visit the library, or go online at www.friendscardifflibrary.org. Winners will be notified by June 4, 2011.
